What age do I need to be to sign up for a policy?
You must be at least 18 years old and a maximum age of 65.

How many dependents or beneficiaries can I add to my policy?
Our policies allow for one (1) beneficiary and up to five (5) dependants (One spouse and four children).

Can I add extended family members to my policy?
Extended family members include biological parents/aunts/uncles/brothers/sisters of the Principal Member or Spouse. A maximum of 5 (five) extended members are allowed per policy for an additional R60 on a policy.

What is the waiting period for payout for natural death?
The waiting period for natural death is 3 months.

Will I be covered for accidental death immediately from the start date of my policy?
Accidental death cover is immediate after first premium is paid.

In what countries can I use my mobile wallet and prepaid VISA card?
The card can be used for transactions in the Republic of South Africa only. The card can be used for wallet-to-wallet transactions by users in Zimbabwe.

Who is eligible for the prepaid VISA card?
Anyone who is living in South Africa, or is a traveller or student (foreign nationals and citizens) in the Republic of South Africa is eligible for the prepaid bank card. If you are a foreign national, all you will need is your valid passport. If you are a citizen, all you will need is your valid ID document.

What are the limits on my ABSA prepaid card?
There is a transaction limit of R5 000 per day and R25 000 per month on your ABSA prepaid card.
